Be, oh B!

Her name in other people's mouths
always sounded different.
In his, it was a mess, and
hot in a painful way.
In this part of town
it was rather rich, but didn't care and
put on black with damaged shoes.
To me it sounded like,
like a plain-faced trouble,
loud, that bade me to know her.
I wonder how she hears it
When her mother says her name.
