All We Do When We Are Alone

A door stands ajar in the night
Held by the breeze that found a way
Beyond a silent plane of light
And beyond that still we kneel
Here to taste, to kiss, and notice
That sweet smell of ceremony in this
As we are kissing and colliding carefully
Into one another's openness
Unravelling in the sense of one another
For we have kissed
          And I look at you

                    You

And I will feel your smile
Still dancing on my open lips.
