Excerpts III - Autumn

[1]
I threw myself so dangerously in love with the idea of Autumn's person, that I did not even know it at first. My sanity rejected the very idea and my logic, who knew better, was silenced upon the grave matter. And so we went through the graveyard of trees and fallen leaves in that same fashion; he would lead - boldly - and I would follow blindly always lingering.

I'd love you to infinity
but maybe not beyond.
I'd treat you like a novelty,
Of which I''d grow so fond;
Though I'd love you none the greater
'Cause we'll share no stronger bond.

I'd love you to the moon and back
but strength to carry you, I'd lack.
'Cause I really can't be bothered
To finish what I started
And I don't love you anymore, goodbye.
